Elisa – from the old village

One of five 3-week-old kittens from the old village. “The mother was run over.”
These were Moldovan people who were, by local standards, quite well off (two houses, two cars, etc.) — and still too clueless (yes, you’re welcome to read this — it’s the truth) to take care of a kitten for four months…(See CATS OF MOLDOVA)
Well, thanks to a rumor in the village that some “crazy German” takes care of cats, they at least asked me to take them, instead of just throwing them in the trash…
We bottle-fed all five and raised them. All lively and sweet, extremely affectionate, naturally…
Top Mojo, very happy.
Elisa was always the smallest — and yet very active. At some point, she injured a hind leg on something sharp (or maybe a dog lightly caught her), which I discovered far too late. The vet said it’s too late to fix — she had hidden it too well. Still, she runs in wide circles, climbs trees, goes onto the road, across the yard…
That’s what makes her happy. While climbing, she forgets her injury. She uses the leg more for climbing than walking indoors.
